Bisse of Saint-Martin
Saint-Martin/Suen
The Saint-Martin bisse is partially active. It draws its water from the Mounire torrent and id supplemented by the melting waters from the Lovegno alpine pasture. From Prarion, the bisse of Saint-Martin flows through the mayens (traditional mid-mountain chalets).
At 1700 meters of altitude, the bisse divides into two branches. The lower bisse descends toward Baule, while the upper one, known as the Bisse de son Baule, runs horizontally along the forest edge toward Grange-Neuve. This upper branch, which can be followed by a footpath, is no longer in use.
Trail :
You can partially follow the Saint-Martin and Son Baule bisses by taking the Sentier Nature hiking trail, marked between Nax and Eison. The hike starts at Grange-Neuve, descends to the mayen of Baule, then follows the bisse to Pravouarbot. The return route goes along the upper bisse.
Access :
Marked trail from Grange-Neuve, above the village of Suen.
